Dr. Roxana Herman attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she graduated with an Honours of Health Sciences, BSc. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She is now board certified in Optometry in Canada and the USA. During her career as an optometry student, Dr. Herman gained a strong knowledge base and background with the focus in ocular disease. She completed externships at the Codman Community Health Center in Boston, MA and at the University Of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, MD where she worked with impoverished populations in treating rare and very serious ocular diseases. Dr. Herman then went on to complete training at the Veterans Hospital in New Haven, CT, where she trained in the speciality of Low Vision, as well as managing TBI & ABI (traumatic and acquired brain injury) and their ocular effects. Finally, she completed her training at the Veterans Hospital in Hartford, CT, where she gained further ocular disease experience. Dr. Herman is passionate about optometry and the importance of eye health. She provides comprehensive exams to patients of all ages, and is experienced and comfortable with diagnosing, managing and treating ocular disease, pre and post- operative care, speciality contact lens fitting, and myopia control. She is certified in prescribing controlled substances including topical and oral therapeutic agents. Alongside her passion for optometry, Dr. Herman enjoys spending time with her family and friends, skiing and travelling.
