Dr. Ampreet Singh

Optometrist

About Me:

Dr. Ampreet Singh attended University of Guelph and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Microbiology. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. After his time in Chicago, he pursued a post-doctorate specialization in Ocular disease at The University of Kentucky, Department of Ophthalmology in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Singh completed extensive training working alongside leaders in the Optometry and Ophthalmology community at The Illinois Eye Institute, Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Kresge Eye institute and The University of Kentucky Department of Ophthalmology.

His prior work experience includes teaching as a clinical attending at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry. He was also involved with clinical education of optometry students at University of Kentucky. Dr Singh provides comprehensive eye care to people of all ages, including infants and toddlers. He has a special interest in diagnosing, treating, and managing acute (urgent) and chronic ocular conditions. He also takes interest in consultations with pre and post-operative care of all corneal refractive surgeries (LASIK/PRK/RLE/Corneal cross linking), specialty contact lens fittings and cataract surgery.

Dr Singh is certified in controlled substances, diagnostic, topical and oral therapeutic agents and holds active practicing licenses in Ontario, Canada and the state of Kentucky, USA. In his free time, Dr. Singh enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. He also enjoys cooking, watching football and travelling.

Accomplishments:

1. Legal Victory: Dr. Singh successfully won against the National Boards of Examiners in Optometry allowing him to wear his a Turban (religious headwear) during the examination.

2. Serving the Underserved: Dr. Singh has participated in two non-profit volunteer trips providing free eye care in rural areas of Guatemala and Pakistan. He Plans to continue this every year, as the next trip is scheduled for March 2017.
